Job Description

We are seeking an Application Support Engineer with experience in the Banking/Fintech domain to manage production support for payment systems, APIs, and transaction processing
platforms. The role requires strong troubleshooting capabilities, ownership of issue resolution, and the ability to coordinate across internal teams, banks, NPCI, and third-party vendors to ensure system stability, minimize client impact, and adhere to SLAs.

Responsibility
  • • Provide L1/L2 production support for banking and payment applications with end-to
  • end ownership of issues until closure.
  • • Monitor transaction flows (IMPS, NEFT, UPI, NACH, BAV, etc.) and proactively
  • identify anomalies or failures.
  • • Investigate transaction failures, API errors, timeout issues, and reconciliation
  • mismatches with structured root cause analysis (RCA).
  • • Analyze API request/response logs (JSON/XML) and system logs to diagnose issues
  • effectively.
  • • Execute SQL queries for transaction validation, reconciliation, and data verification.
  • • Manage support queues and prioritize incidents based on severity, client impact,
  • and business criticality.
  • • Ensure strict adherence to defined SLAs, with focus on reducing turnaround time
  • and repeat incidents.
  • • Coordinate with banks, vendors, and internal Tech/Product teams to drive timely
  • resolution and accountability.
  • • Participate in incident calls / war rooms for critical production issues impacting client
  • BAU.
  • • Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to reduce
  • recurring issues.
  • • Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, RCA, resolutions, and knowledge
  • base updates.
  • • Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to provide inputs for system
  • improvements and stability enhancements.
Requirements
  • • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • • Minimum 2+ years of experience in Application/Production Support (Banking/Fintech
  • preferred).
  • • Strong understanding of banking transaction lifecycle and payment systems.
  • • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting APIs and web-based applications.
  • • Working knowledge of SQL for data validation and reconciliation.
  • • Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix commands.
  • • Familiarity with ticketing tools such as Zendesk, Freshdesk, or Jira.
  • • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to handle production incidents.
  • • Good communication skills to interact with internal teams and external stakeholders.
