Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Design & Engineering
Design mechanical components of Power Transformers (up to 400 kV / 500 MVA) including:
Core & coil clamping structures
Tank, cover, conservator, radiators, bellows
Lifting lugs, jacking pads, base channels
Bushings turrets and cable boxes
Prepare GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and BOMs.
Perform strength calculations for:
Tank under vacuum & pressure
Short-circuit forces
Lifting, jacking, and transportation loads
Ensure designs meet IEC / IEEE / IS standards.
Technical Review & Coordination
Review customer specifications, tenders, and GTPs from a mechanical perspective.
Coordinate with electrical design, production, quality, and purchase teams.
Support vendor evaluation for mechanical parts and accessories.
Participate in design reviews and RCA for failures or deviations.
Manufacturing & Testing Support
Provide technical support during:
Tank fabrication & welding
Active part assembly
Drying, oil filling, and testing stages
Resolve shop-floor issues and NCRs.
Support FAT and customer inspections.
