Job Title Testing & Commissioning – Protection Systems
Reporting to Coordinator – Projects & Manager - Projects
Main Role
To Plan, Execute, Control and Monitor Project execution successfully at project site and maintain a high
level of quality of the work in accordance with the Company’s Policies for the achievement of the
Company’s Vision and Mission.

Visiting the site/factory to understand and formalize the requirements of Substation Control &
Protection Testing and Commissioning Works.
2
Preparation of Testing and Commissioning schedule, Method statement for Substation Control
& Protection Testing and Commissioning and other HSE requirements.
3
Testing and Commissioning of Control & Protection Equipment’s as per the approved
methodology including but notlimited to static, numerical, electromechanical protection relays
of various makes (Alstom, GE, Areva, ABB, Siemens, SEL, Schneider)
4 Timely Preparation and submission of Testing and Commissioning Reports.
5 Ensuring the submitted test reports are approved & signed off by the consultants/clients
6 Solving the problems/issues during the Testing and Commissioning works.

Supervision of the Testing and Commissioning works carried out by the team members and
training the team members to carryout Testing and Commissioning works.

Coordination of Control & Protection Testing and Commissioning activity with Clients /
consultants / subcontractors.
9 Preparation of Site Visit Reports, Progress Reports, etc.,
10 Scheduling of Testing and Commissioning Activities
11 To ensure the site in progress is clean and well maintained on daily basis.
12 To keep a proper track on the usage of Test Equipment, materials and tools taken from stores.
13 Other Job / Assignment as defined by Coordinator – Projects
Educational
Qualification
s
Bachelor’s degree in electrical and Electronics Engineering
Mandatory
Experience
Onsite experience in Substation equipment testing & commissioning works including but not limited
Experience
Sought
Minimum of 2-3 years of similar onsite experience on Substation Control & Protection equipment testing
& commissioning works including, but not limited to,
1. Protection Relays (IEDs) – Back up protection, Synch check, Pilot wire, REF protection, AVR
scheme, Generator Protection, Feeder protection, Motor Protection of various makes & OEM
2. Control & Protection Schemes – Binary input, CT/VT Secondary/Primary injection, Trip logics,
Interlocks, Synchronization schemes, Auto reclosure schemes, Stability & Sensitivity tests
3. Protection Settings validation through testing
4. Parameterization on protection relays
5. Configuration of Protection relays, Project File update, modification in protection relays
6. Knowledge in IEC 61850 standards
7. DIGSI, PCM600, Easergy Studio, MiCOM, Bio-Vision, SEL Engineering Software, Schnider (esetup
easergy Pro V4.10.02)
Other Skills
Computer literacy, Power System, Electrical Engineering, Knowledge of Basic Electrical tools, Protection
