Job Description

The Chef Design Engineer – EHV is responsible for designing, reviewing, and validating Extra High Voltage (EHV) systems, including substations, switchgear, and transmission equipment. The role involves technical leadership, ensuring compliance with international standards, and coordinating with cross-functional teams for successful project delivery.

Responsibility
  • Prepare and review detailed EHV system designs (220kV / 400kV / 765kV).
  • Develop single line diagrams (SLD), schematics, layouts, and equipment specifications.
  • Design and evaluate EHV switchgear, transformers, CT/PT, GIS/AIS equipment.
  • Conduct load flow, short circuit, and protection coordination studies.
  • Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, and utility standards.
  • Review vendor drawings, technical offers, and equipment datasheets.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, and project teams for design approvals.
  • Support installation, testing, and commissioning teams with technical guidance.
  • Prepare BOQ, material selection, and technical reports.
  • Perform design optimization for cost, quality, and safety.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of EHV substations, switchgear, and related equipment.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, EPLAN, ETAP, or similar software.
  • Excellent understanding of IEC/IEEE standards.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering calculations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and coordination abilities.
